The Concept:
The danger of misinformation

In today's media-saturated climate, misinformation isn't just an error—it's volatile. This piece employs the metaphor of a real firecracker to visualize the risks of consuming news without rigour. If information lacks precision, the result is a detonation that shatters the reader's credibility.

Art Direction:
The power of Craft

Moving away from flat digital executions, this project prioritises tactile authenticity:

Handmade Construction: The object was physically crafted, wrapping a real firecracker in newspaper. The creases, the paper texture, and the tension in the fuse provide a visual truth that 3D rendering simply cannot replicate.

Dramatic Tension: The lit spark is not merely decorative; it is a focal point that introduces urgency. It captures the exact moment before the explosion, demanding the viewer's immediate attention.

Visual Synthesis: All distracting elements were stripped away. The neutral background allows the visual "noise" of the newspaper to become the message: raw information contrasted against the brand (20minutos), which provides order and safety.

"The piece avoids digital artifice in favour of a documentary and tactile aesthetic. The lighting was crafted to be lateral and soft, accentuating the newspaper's irregularities and the object's physical volume, creating natural shadows that anchor the element in space. Using a shallow depth of field, the focus remains on the 'craft' texture and the dynamic nature of the real spark, while a desaturated colour palette reinforces the gravity of the editorial message. It is a capture of the 'decisive moment', where the object's stillness contrasts with the fuse's imminent violence."
"The impact of this piece lies in its temporal veracity. This sequence of frames documents the actual ignition process, capturing the transition from latency to imminent detonation. As a Director of Photography, the challenge was to maintain a consistent exposure that allowed for recording the high luminosity of the sparks without losing the newspaper's detail and texture in the shadows. This visual progression reinforces the 'countdown' concept, transforming a static object into a narrative of escalating tension where the fire is the sole dynamic protagonist."
